There are three <strong><em>&#8220;appeals to conversion<\/em><\/strong><em> that the mercy of God addresses to all of us, as persons and as communities&#8221;<\/em>, highlighted by the Holy Father to accompany the faithful on their journey towards Easter:<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Journey<\/strong>. It is the first call to conversion that recalls the motto of the Jubilee, &#8220;Pilgrims of hope&#8221; and the biblical exodus, but also the human condition because, says the Pope, <em>&#8220;we are all pilgrims in life.&#8221;<\/em> For this, he offers some questions: <em>&#8220;How do I let myself be challenged by this condition? Am I really on the way or rather paralyzed, static, with fear and lack of hope, or reclining in my comfort zone? Do I seek ways of liberation from situations of sin and lack of dignity?&#8221;<\/em> He also proposes a practical Lenten exercise, <em>&#8220;to confront the concrete reality of some migrant or pilgrim and let it involve us, so as to discover what God asks of us in order to be better travelers towards the Father\u2019s house.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Together<\/strong>. This is the key word at the center of a second appeal: <strong>conversion to synodality<\/strong>, which asks us not to be &#8220;solitary travelers&#8221;, not to close oneself in one\u2019s own self-referentiality, but to come out of oneself to go towards God and our brothers and sisters. <em>&#8220;To walk together means to be <strong>weavers of unity<\/strong>, starting from the common dignity of children of God.&#8221; <\/em>The concrete verification is on their ability to listen, to welcome, to proceed &#8220;side by side&#8221; with patience, without enshrouding ourselves in our own convictions, making people &#8211; both those who are close and those who are far away &#8211; feel part of the community. <em>&#8220;Let us ask ourselves before the Lord whether we are able to work together as bishops, priests, consecrated and lay people in the service of the Kingdom of God.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>In Hope.<\/strong> The third call to conversion is that of hope, of trust in God and in His great promise, eternal life. <em>&#8220;Death has been transformed into victory and here lies the faith and the great hope of Christians, in the resurrection of Christ!&#8221;<\/em> Among the questions left by the Pope<em>: &#8220;Do I live concretely the hope that helps me to read the events of history and pushes me to commitment for justice, fraternity, care of the common home, making sure no one is left behind?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis ends his Message with a sentence by Saint Teresa of Jesus, who is also the patron saint of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians<em>, &#8220;Hope, O my soul, hope. You know neither the day nor the hour. Watch carefully, for everything passes quickly, even though your impatience makes doubtful what is certain, and turns a very short time into a long one.&#8221; <\/em>He entrusts the Lenten journey to Mary, Mother of Hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.humandevelopment.va\/it\/news\/2025\/quaresima-2025-messaggio-di-papa-francesco.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Dicastery for Integral Human Development Service<\/span><\/a><\/strong> provides a poster and an infographic in different languages that synthesizes the Message.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/francesco\/it\/messages\/lent\/documents\/20250206-messaggio-quaresima2025.html\">Message Lent 2025<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rome (Itay).
