Rome (Italy).<\/strong> Now close to the opening of the Jubilee Year 2025 “Pilgrims of Hope”, the OIEC<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>(Office International de l\u2019Enseignement catholique), of which the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is an associate member, produces a booklet in 5 languages entitled: A “glocal” educative pact that generates hope<\/p>\n

The commitment to deepening and putting into practice the Global Compact on Education<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by Pope Francis, continues and renews in local perspective, addressing each educative site, center, district or city.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this way, we will awaken and give hope to the new generations, to all the citizens where our schools are located and, by contagion and witness, to many other cities or regions. In order to achieve the 7 fundamental objectives\/commitments that Pope Francis has proposed to us, in the convocation of this pact, to obtain the consensus and commitment of all, it is necessary to set out on the journey, in an attitude of exodus<\/strong>; to convert<\/strong> personally and collectively; to grow our hope<\/strong> and our conviction that a new education that contributes to co-creating a new society that is more human, fraternal, supportive and sustainable is possible\u201d<\/em> encourages Herv\u00e9 Lecomte, Secretary General of the OIEC<\/strong>, highlighting the three steps developed in the resource.<\/p>\n

In the Prologue, Cardinal Jos\u00e9 Tolentino de Mendon\u00e7a,<\/strong> Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education<\/strong>, shares the desire for a fruitful journey, as Christians and as educators:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis booklet is a precious tool that invites us to set out on our journey, using words rich in meaning such as journey, conversion, metamorphosis, process, reconstruction…<\/em><\/p>\n

Through the Global Compact on Education, the Holy Father is asking us not only for metanoia – a profound change – but above all for metacardia – a renewal of the heart. The Jubilee of Education, to be held from 30 October to 2 November 2025, will be our special moment. As educators, we are called to be active protagonists, so that the light of hope can shine in every corner of the world, through an education capable of continually renewing itself.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

This will be a special opportunity to rethink the road travelled in recent years and to relaunch The Global Compact on Education with even greater vigour, looking to the future with great hope. So let us set off with all the other pilgrims of hope, as tireless workers, witnesses to change, sowers of hope and builders of the future\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

Finally, Father Pedro Aguado, Superior General of the Order of Pious Schools and President of the UISG-USG Commission for Education<\/strong>, invites us to transmit, to dare to generate hope, and to do so “as a team\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Educational Pact is a dynamism that generates hope. I think that the educators who read this document will find it a valuable invitation: if you want to be an educator who provokes and transmits hope, don\u2019t be afraid to look inside yourself and work on your own way of living and understanding education. Because that\u2019s the only way you\u2019ll discover what you need to change to be the educator children and young people need. Dare to generate hope!<\/strong> And never forget that the best way to do this is as part of a team, with people and institutions committed to making the world a better place\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n
