Rome (Italy).<\/strong> Mission as prophetic hospitality<\/strong> is the central theme of the 6th<\/sup> CommTalkS, the initiative of the Communication Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with the aim of creating a shared vision of the culture of communication, in the diversity of expressions.<\/p>\n

To deepen the theme is Fr. Samuel Komlanvi Amaglo<\/strong>, Salesian of Don Bosco, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Salesian University of Rome, where he is Professor of Missiology and responsible for the course of ongoing formation of Missionary Pastoral.<\/p>\n

“The use of the concept of mission and of missionary is complex and ‘what is mission’ is really difficult to define. The current crisis in mission definition starts from an approach from the center to the peripheries, from the Trinity to humanity, from the Church to the world, and from the West to the rest of humanity,” <\/em>Fr. Samuel observes, who starts the reflection by talking about a paradigm shift of the mission<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In interculturality, which encourages welcoming the other as he\/she is and also responds to the Salesian requirement of “living and working together,” he sees a way towards prophetic hospitality that becomes mutual acceptance.<\/p>\n

“From the Salesian perspective, one of the challenges of mission today is to find brothers and sisters who welcome you, who accompany you, who help you to be faithful and bear fruit. In a synodal and missionary-outgoing Church, the Salesian Family is called, like Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, to dream of a missionary spirit open to dialogue and prophetic hospitality.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Fr. Samuel\u2019s intervention<\/strong> offers a useful reflection to be shared in groups and communities on the occasion of the Missionary October and in view of the Triennium in preparation for the 150th<\/sup> anniversary of the First Missionary Expedition (14 November 1877).<\/p>\n
