Campos dos Goytacazes (Brazil)<\/strong>. From 16 to 19 September 2024 in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, the 8th<\/sup> International Congress of Scientific Knowledge (CICC) took place, organized by the ISECENSA Higher Education Institutes of Mother Mazzarello<\/em> Province (BMM), on the theme: “Innovation frontiers: linking science, technology and society”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event, which takes place every three years, was a great success both for attendance – with about 3,000 participants, of which more than 500 were external to the Institution – and as a program that focused on the areas of competence of the 11 courses offered by the Institution. The 146 activities ranged from national and international conferences, technical visits, workshops, and round tables to presentations (45), posters (136), sending papers (181), and cultural events with concerts, book presentations, podcasts, stands, art exhibits, and a social space with music and street food.<\/p>\n

The first day of the Congress<\/strong>, which also hosted the IX Research and Development Seminar and the II Exhibit of the ISECENSA Extension, was marked by a real celebration of research and scientific knowledge. In addition to the work of internal students, external participation promoted significant academic interaction. The presence of 50 external evaluators, who brought their input and experience, broadened perspectives and strengthened interdisciplinary dialogue, adding value to the exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n

The international moment of the evening was led by the guest, Sister Sarah Bawagan Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, FMA, Director of the Human Rights Office of the International Institute Mary Help of Christians (IIMA<\/a><\/span>) <\/strong>of Geneva, who spoke on the theme, “Human rights from the perspective of the United Nations”.<\/p>\n

The official opening on 17 September filled the sports arena to listen to Fl\u00e1vio Canto, Olympic medalist and founder of the Rea\u00e7\u00e3o Institute; and futurist Gui Rangel, a strategy expert who focuses on emerging trend projects. A special touch was given by the violin of Marina Andrade and the voices of Luciana Ribeiro and Gui Valen\u00e7a, who closed the evening with a beautiful concert.<\/p>\n

They were four days of intense immersion in knowledge and the appreciation of knowledge, in a space of comparison and networking that has put ISECENSA at the level of those who believe in academic excellence and who see education as the way to great transformations in society.<\/p>\n

Sister Sarah Garcia also gave a talk to law students on the theme, “Human rights and youth participation”, illustrating effective methods of participation in these spaces where ideas are discussed to make the world more just and more humane. The young people participated attentively and were enthusiastic about the challenges of Sister Sarah, who invited them to create a human rights group at ISECENSA.<\/p>\n
