{"id":112415,"date":"2024-05-31T15:50:39","date_gmt":"2024-05-31T13:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/4-commtalks-sullintelligenza-artificiale\/"},"modified":"2024-06-01T21:32:34","modified_gmt":"2024-06-01T19:32:34","slug":"4th-commtalks-on-artificial-intelligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/infosphere\/4th-commtalks-on-artificial-intelligence\/","title":{"rendered":"4th CommTalks on Artificial Intelligence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rome (Italy).<\/strong> We talk about <strong>Artificial Intelligence<\/strong> in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> edition of CommTalkS, the initiative of the Communication Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with the aim of creating a shared vision of the culture of communication, despite the diversity of expressions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What is artificial intelligence?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is the simple, fundamental question from which starts <strong>Prof. Alexandre le Voice Sayad<\/strong>, journalist, educator, and writer, with a Masters in &#8220;AI and Ethics&#8221; at the PUC, Pontifical Catholic University of S\u00e3o Paulo, and a PhD student in Lifelong Learning and Politics of AI.<\/p>\n<p>After having provided two definitions taken from the literature on the subject, Prof. le Voice Sayad proposes this<em>, &#8220;Artificial Intelligence is for me a form of mediation, just like television and radio was, but we have a new form of mediation towards the world, in the sense of mediation that Marshall McLuhan and other thinkers proposed to us some time ago.\u201d It is \u201can interaction that has many ethical impacts on our lives.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In fact, \u201c&#8221;No technology is neutral; there is always the human hand in its creation, in other words, it is biased.&#8221; And from this presupposition we must recognize the impacts, not only on the economy, on politics, on society, but also on education. <em>&#8220;The entire initiative of Don Bosco and the Salesian Sisters in working on Education in Communication, Media, and Information, is already at 50% of the way to face Artificial Intelligence.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The presentation of Prof. Alexandre le Voice Sayad<\/strong> offers an interesting perspective oriented to create methods and to develop educative strategies that help children and young people to approach the media with awareness of what is behind the operations they perform daily with their smartphones and with a critical sense.<\/p>\n<p>The video of the full discourse is available with subtitles in<strong> Italian, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish <\/strong>(from YouTube settings):<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"FS5J1_ciJ8o\"><iframe title=\"CommTalkS 004: O que \u00e9 a Intelig\u00eancia Artificial?\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FS5J1_ciJ8o?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The webinars are aimed at all Educating Communities and those interested, in particular young people, and can be used for meetings and also for community animation.<\/p>\n<p>The previous videos remain available: the first is<strong> the introductory CommTalkS with the words of Mother Chiara Cazzuola; <\/strong>the second is <em><strong>\u201c<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ov_6paT4Bxw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Young People\u2019s Questions on the Synod<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/span><em><strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/em>, in which the Mother Emeritus of the FMA Institute, Sister Yvonne Reungoat, participant in the Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of October 2023, answers the questions of the young people of the Provinces of the world; <strong>the third with the intervention of Prof. Ignacio Aguaded,<\/strong> Professor of the University of Huelva, Spain on <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/infosphere\/3rd-commtalks-media-and-information-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media Education and Information<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rome (Italy).
