{"id":102100,"date":"2023-12-11T11:16:59","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T10:16:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/convegno-nazionale-pgs\/"},"modified":"2023-12-14T17:52:43","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T16:52:43","slug":"national-convention-pgs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/national-convention-pgs\/","title":{"rendered":"National Convention PGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Turin (Italy).<\/strong> On 1-3 December 2023, the Poly-sports Salesian Youth Association (PGS) lived in Valdocco, Turin, a significant time of associative life with the National Conference <strong>&#8220;On the places of the origins for a renewed cultural proposal&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event was an opportunity to officially present the path begun in <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/towards-a-new-cultural-proposal-convention-pgs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 2021<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, when the Association chose to take back in hand its \u2018identity\u2019 through a reflection on one\u2019s roots and on one\u2019s own history that would lead to a current cultural and formative project, inclusive, focused on young people.<\/p>\n<p>The work was curated and coordinated by the teachers of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) Andrea Farina, Andrea Zampetti, and Isabella Cordisco, assisted by the National President PGS, Avv. Ciro Bisogno, and the National Contact of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Francesca Scibetta.<\/p>\n<p>In recent months the reflection has focused on the <strong>dream<\/strong>, the <strong>vision <\/strong>of PGS, the ways of <strong>presence in the territories<\/strong>, the extent to which the <strong>Salesian identity<\/strong> emerges compared to other similar associations, on how to meet them, on the values to be transmitted through sport.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference, also presented were the four dimensions that represent the main areas within which the action and intervention of PGS is expressed: <strong>Mission, Youth, Sport, Professionalism and Volunteering<\/strong>. Some convictions emerged strongly, a clear sign of the identity of the Association:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PGS contributes to recover the sense of sport, <\/strong><strong>that sport that is true training to life, open to comparison with human values and interested in the promotion of the person<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>PGS proposes the courtyard of Don Bosco as an environment of personalization and socialization<\/strong>: viewed by the educator, the field and the space-time of sports play become an educational art, expression of the ability to coexist with children and direct and personal relationships; seen by young athletes, are the expression of needs with multiple contents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PGS invests in youth protagonism<\/strong>, calling young people to become protagonists and not merely spectators of the educational process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For PGS sport is both a practice by which to educate, and a value to strive for in order to educate.<\/strong> Having quality sports becomes an end to excel in different disciplines and to grow as \u2018good Christians and honest citizens.\u2019 In fact, PGS puts sport at the center to achieve the goal that is education; to experience values such as friendship, socialization, and social integration; respect for diversity; honesty towards the opponent; team spirit. \u00a0Through sport, PGS offers different formative moments not only focused on sports but also on life, culture, thought, promotion of values related to sport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The visit to the places of Don Bosco and the possibility to breathe the air of the origins have strongly marked these days, encouraging reflection and sharing on the sense of educational service through the sports that PGS have chosen to provide to young people in Italy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-102074 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Convegno-nazionale-PGS-2023_5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1182\" height=\"488\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Convegno-nazionale-PGS-2023_5.jpg 1182w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Convegno-nazionale-PGS-2023_5-768x317.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Convegno-nazionale-PGS-2023_5-696x287.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Convegno-nazionale-PGS-2023_5-1017x420.jpg 1017w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1182px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1182\/488;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 1182px) 100vw, 1182px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President Ciro Bisogno writes,<em> &#8220;There have been many emotions experienced in these three days of associative life.
