Rome (Italy). The World Feast of Gratitude is celebrated on 26 April 2020 in Rome in St. John Bosco Province (IRO).

Your life is a tree that bears fruit. This is the theme proposed by the Provincial Community to remember the stories, gestures, and signs of life of the Salesian charism lived and shared in co-responsibility with the laity and young people of the Salesian Family. And we all feel involved in giving thanks to the Lord, at the end of these twelve years, for the service of animation and government of Sister Yvonne Reungoat, Mother General of the FMA, “bond of communion and center of unity of the Institute” (C art. 116).

The logo represents a tree, luxuriant and reaching out towards the city – symbolically represented by the bridge over the Tiber River and the Dome of St. Peter – which draws life from the river and gives it to young people, in a synodality that opens up to the newness indicated by the Spirit.

The biblical icon that accompanies this time of waiting is taken from Psalm 1 “Blessed is the one who finds joy in the law of the Lord”.

Listening attentively to the voice of the Holy Spirit and to the hearts of the young people of every land, creative fidelity to the charism of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, moves every Educating Community to say “Thank you”.

For the involvement of the Educating Communities on the IFMA Website there is the Letter of Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, the in-depth material prepared by the FMAIRO Province, and some indications for the preparation of the World Feast of Gratitude.

The World Feast of Gratitude makes visible the family spirit, internationality, and interculturality of the FMA Institute, a large family in the heart of contemporaneity.
