Rome (Italy). No. 15 of the YP Series was published entitled “Renewed and Shared Commitment to Protect Children, Adolescents, and Youth”.

The Synod of Bishops on youth has recently concluded. The young people called to the adults and educators to listen to the world of youth and in particular to a renewed and shared commitment to protect children, adolescents, and young people.

The Youth Pastoral Sector sent to all the Provinces Resource no. 15 of the YP Series which recalls the commitments assumed in the Provinces since 2012: walk with the People of God; remain on the side of the young; together dare to make prophetic gestures; the prioritized strategy desired by the Guidelines of the FMA Educational Mission to “form ourselves and work together”. In the presentation letter for this resource written by the Vicar General, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, and by the Councilor for Youth Pastoral, Sr. Runita Borja, the resource was highlighted as offering the educating communities short formative points to study personally and as community, some ‘provocations’ in reference to care and protection in order to renew the mission of being, like Mary, ‘Helpers’ of children, adolescents, and young people, above all, the poorest and most vulnerable.

The resource includes the entire text of the Letter to the People of God, recently written by Pope Francis, which affirms among other things that: “Today we are called as God’s People to bear the suffering of our brothers and sisters wounded in the flesh and in spirit…today we want solidarity, understood in its deepest and most demanding meaning, to become our way of making both present and future history, in an environment in which conflicts, tensions, and especially victims of every kind of abuse may find a hand outstretched that protects them and redeems them from their suffering”.
