A Religious Province consists of "all the local communities in a particular area who share their fraternal life and apostolic projects" (Const. art 143).
At present, there are:
76 Provinces and 5 Pre-provinces in 94 nations within the 5 continents, with a total of 1388 local communities.

In AFRICA we have 548 Sisters (FMA) belonging to 100 communities, in 24 countries working in:
• Activities for the advancement of women
• Administration/Coordination/Teaching in non-FMA schools
• Adult ministry
• After school activities
• Catechetical groups
• Centers for scholastic and professional guidance
• Formation houses
• Group homes for girls and young women at risk
• Institutes for higher learning
• Literacy schools and centers

In AMERICA we have 3744 Sisters (FMA) belonging to 503 communities, in 23 countries working in:
