  • 2 - Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters) - FMA
    The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians came into being on 5th August 1872. 11 young women became the 'Monument of gratitude to the Help of Christians', to her who had inspired and upheld Don Bosco and Mary Dominica Mazzarello, the first superior. Among themselves they called each other 'sister' and their superior was known as 'Mother'.

  • 6 - Don Bosco Volunteers – VDB
    From 1907 until 1917 Fr. Philip Rinaldi, the chaplain of the FMA youth club ('oratory') at Turin-Valdocco, was working intensely with the help of the Sisters in the spiritual and human development of the youth club members. Some of them expressed the desire to consecrate themselves to God while remaining outside the convent.

  • 22 - Congregation of the Announcers of the Lord Sisters (SAL)
    This Congregation of diocesan right, is inspired by Don Bosco and has St. Therese of Lisieux as its patroness. It was founded by Fr. Ignazio Canazei, and received aproval in 1931. With the Communist regime of 1949 some Sisters were placed in prison and others were sent home to their families. In 1953, eight Sisters, with the help of Fr. Joseph Cucchiara, transferred themselves to Hong Kong. In 2004, according to a decision made by their 8th General Chapter, the Announcers of the Lord Sisters made the official request to the Rector Major to be admitted as a Congregation in the Salesian Family, a request accepted officially in the month of July 2005.
